Tire repair kit Basic for the motorcycle. A flat tire can abruptly end your tour or motorcycle weekend. With this motorcycle tire repair kit you can easily repair a hole in your motorcycle tire and refill your tire with the CO2 cartridges. The advantage of this compact set is that it can be stored more easily under smaller saddles.
The motorcycle tire repair kit contains:
- 1x roughening tool to roughen and clean the hole
- 1x tool to apply repair laces
- 5x repair laces with vulcanizing glue
- 2x CO2 cartridges (large, enough to inflate the tire, but always check it afterwards for the correct pressure for your motorcycle)
- 1x auxiliary valve
Points of attention:
- It is advisable to take small pliers with you to remove a nail or screw (usually these are included in your repair kit for the motor itself).
- The repair is an emergency repair. For a definitive repair, it is advisable to have the motorcycle tire professionally repaired.
Tip: Make a shortcut on your smartphone to the YouTube video, so that you can watch it in the event of a breakdown. It's just as useful (perhaps even easier) than reading the instructions.
Note: the video is for illustrative purposes.
Instruction use is simple:
- Remove the nail/screw if it is still in the motorcycle tire (for example, with pliers from your tool set).
- Roughen the hole with the tool (kind of pricker) that is included (without the eyelet). Pull it up and down a few times, so that there is a good hole in the motorcycle tire.
- Remove 1 lace from the package (very sticky and provided with extra vulcanizing material, otherwise not dangerous)
- Apply some extra vulcanizing glue to the lace
- Put this in the eye of the 2nd piece of tool. Make sure the lace sticks out equally on both sides.
- Press the lace through the strap with the tool. Make sure that both ends stick out 1 to 2 cm.
- Move the tool up and down and pull the tool back to get the lace out of the eye. This has to be done by feel as it is not visible. Note that it can be pulled back relatively easily (so you don't have to pull the lace out again).
- Cut off the ends of the lace (which are 1 to 2 cm). It is also not important if your lace sticks out a few mm (it will wear away on its own and you will not be hindered by it).
- Place the tube on your valve and possibly remove the inner part of the tube (you don't need it with motorcycle tires).
- On the other side, turn the cartridge with the yellow cover onto it without hesitation. Make sure you take the one with the case on as the cartridge gets very cold. Place the cover on the 2nd cartridge and then screw it on.
- Your rear tire is now ready for use again. Please note it is an emergency repair and a proper repair or replacement of the tire is recommended at a later stage.
- NEVER REPAIR A HOLE IN THE TIRE SIDE WALLS (THUS ONLY IN THE TREADMILL).
